Ditta Artigianale

Please tell us a little about yourself:

I am the founder of Ditta Artigianale, a cafè and roastery in Florence, Italy. I’ve won the Italian Barista Champion multiple times, and was also a finalist at the World Barista Championship in Melbourne.

How did you get started in coffee?:

I start to work as a barista with my dad when I was 14 years old. It was thanks to him that I understood how important it is to love and study your profession.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

2010 Italian Barista Champion
18th Place at 2010 London World Barista Championship
2011 Italian barista champion
25th place at 2011 Bogotà World Barista Championship
2013 Italian Barista Champion
6th Place at 2013 Melbourne World Barista Championship

What are you excited to do in Berlin?:

Meet a lot of friends, visit good cafés, discover the Berlin culinary scene, and cycle around the city.

What is your favourite coffee to cup?:

I like to cup all coffees. Every coffee is so different and they all have something to offer. I like cupping all coffees to discover their complexity.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Cycling, food, and wine.

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

Continue working and driving my company, Ditta Artigianale.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCTC?:

Thank you to all my team at Ditta Artigianale!
