Sylvia is a director of the Mexican Specialty Coffee Association (AMCCE), where she is also an AST Instructor and SCA Campus Manager, National Body Event Coordinator for Brewers Cup, Barista, Latte Art and Roasting Championships.
Sylvia works closely with the Coffee Quality Institute to develop quality programs. A Q Instructor for arabica, Sylvia finished Level 2 of the Q processing course in 2018. She also has a Q grader license for arabica and robusta.
Since 2009 she has served as a WCE Certified Judge at the World Barista Championship and World Latte Art Championship.
Sylvia coordinated the first three Cup of Excellence competitions in Mexico and is also a founder of a non-profit for women in coffee in Mexico.
