Please tell us a little about yourself:
Hi, my name is Mikael and I have been in coffee for around 7 years. I now work as a Marketing & Coffee Quality Manager for Common Grounds Coffee Roasters & ST. ALi Family Jakarta, in Indonesia. I am excited to compete in my first WBC!
What are you excited to do in Boston?:
Seeing coffee friends from around the world.

2015 Australian Coffee in Good Spirits – 2nd Place
2016 Australian Coffee in Good Spirits – 2nd Place
2018 Indonesian Barista Championship – 2nd Place
2019 Indonesian Barista Championship – 1st Place
How do you see the coffee industry changing in the future?:
I see an exponential leap in coffee quality around the world, as a result of both better technology and better understanding of agriculture & processing techniques.
Where do you see yourself in five years?:
Still in the coffee industry, obviously.
What are your interests outside of coffee?:
Natural wine, cooking, fermentation.
