Fuglen Coffee Roasters Oslo

Please tell us a little about yourself:

Im a roaster and barista from Norway. I have worked both with coffee in Norway, England, and also at origin. For the last two years I have been working with Fuglen Oslo, and Fuglen Coffee Roasters Oslo. Coffee is my biggest passion, because of the potential in learning, and meeting people.

How did you get started in coffee?:

I started out making espresso at home on my Rancillio Silvia when I was 11. After that I started working in a restaurant with specialty coffee when I was 12/13. When I was 15, my passion really started to grow and today coffee is my life.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

I came to the National Championship of Norway in 2015. I competed in classic barista.

What are you excited to do in Berlin?:

Competing of course, but I’m also looking forward to seeing old friends as well as meeting new ones.

What is your favourite coffee to cup?:

There are too many to choose from, but I have a great fondness for both Kenyan and Burundian coffees, as well as Costa Ricans.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

For many years I was a ballet dancer, but I don’t dance any more. Today my interest is in flavors, everything from food, wine, beer, cocktails, as well as coffee.

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

Either still roasting for Fuglen Coffee Roasters Oslo, or having my own place.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCTC?:

Most of all I’d like to thank my co-workers, and my coach, Joakim, who have cupped with me every week and shared their knowledge.
