Giving a hand at industry events is a great chance to grow your global coffee network, while learning some new skills in a fast-paced environment. The World Coffee Championships are coming to the Specialty Coffee Expo in Chicago this April, World of Coffee in Busan in May, and World of Coffee in Copenhagen in June — volunteer registration is now open for all three events, with Lead Volunteer Registration open for Copenhagen.

 

2024 World of Coffee & World Coffee Championships Volunteer Registration

By committing to a minimum of 3 shifts, you will earn a free 3-day World of Coffee Volunteer badge in exchange, which gives you full access to enjoy all four World Coffee Championships and the event itself.

You will be able to self-select volunteer shifts that fit your schedule. Please make sure to read the role description and requirements for your preferred role before you plan your shifts. Once you have selected your shifts and have agreed to the waiver, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

To Earn a 3-day Show Badge

SCA Members: minimum commitment of three shifts
Non-SCA Members: minimum commitment of four shifts

Chicago Volunteer Registration Process

  • Visit the Coffee Expo site
  • Under ‘Sign Up to Volunteer’, choose ‘Register Now’
  • Choose ‘Volunteer Registration’
  • Start a new registration, and enter the email associated with your SCA membership (if relevant).
  • Enter your details on the Personal Information page
  • Cancelation Policy: If you are unable to fulfill the volunteer shifts that you signed up for, please notify us by April 5, 2024, by emailing volunteers@sca.coffee.
  • Note: there is a $5 non-refundable processing fee associated with the Chicago volunteer badge.

Busan Volunteer Registration Process

  • Visit the Busan volunteer registration page
  • Cancelation Policy: If you are unable to fulfill the volunteer shifts that you signed up for, please notify us by April 15, 2024, by emailing volunteers@sca.coffee.

Copenhagen Volunteer Registration Process

  • Visit the volunteer registration page
  • Self-select the shifts that fit your schedule & register
  • Once we get closer to the show, you will receive an email with a code for your ticket, that you can redeem for a ticket at the registration desk at World of Coffee.

Copenhagen Lead Volunteer Registration

The SCA is looking for people who would like to contribute more time and skills by holding lead roles for Copenhagen WCC event. These positions require a greater time commitment but are perfect for specialty coffee professionals who are open for leadership roles and would like to be more involved with the behind-the-scenes support of the event.

Lead volunteer roles include stage/backstage assistants & managers, scorekeepers, bar managers, and head runners across the competition stages and WCC bar areas.
