Terres de Café

Please tell us a little about yourself:

Hi, my name is Pierre, I’m the current French Brewers Champion. I’m young enough in the specialty coffee industry, and even in general… I’m only 22! I started this journey by chance, while I was studying kitchen skills in a famous French School in Paris. I fell in love with coffee, it’s story, the way it gathers people; as much as the positive energy devoted behind a bar of dedicated baristas, the social interaction, and emulation with customers.

Drinking coffee means giving yourself the chance to experience a different thrilling taste journey everyday, and preparing it for others is the opportunity for someone else to join this pleasure.

What are you excited to do in Boston?:

Meet people that are involved in the well-being and progress of the specialty coffee industry, taste nice cups, take pleasure in representing my country, and brewing for challenging coffee enthusiasts.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

French Cup Tasters 2018 & 2019 – First round only.
French Brewers Cup 2019 – Champion

How do you see the coffee industry changing in the future?:

I see more and more traceability in the whole value chain, and improved knowledge and practices in farming and processing of coffee.

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

In a coffee shop, with my customers.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Food, wine, and in general anything that I can taste. I enjoy social interactions and improvements.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WBrC?:

Joachim Morcreau, my mentor in coffee from whom I have been learning what I know today; and Christophe Servell, owner and boss of Terres de Café, for trusting me and allowing me to be here.
