David Huang

During his career in coffee, he has worked for various individual and chain cafés, as well as coffee companies. Since 2006, he has built and started up several cafés, espresso bars, and roasteries and trained hundreds of baristas and coffee roasters, and a few national champions & finalists in between. He is also heavily involved in both coffee and the broader hospitality industry through volunteering, competing, and judging. Some of his achievements include:

  • New Zealand Latte Art Championship 2007 Finalist
  • New Zealand Trans-Tasman Barista Team 2008-2010
  • SCAA-certified IDP Training Instructor since 2011
  • New Zealand HSI Workplace Assessor since 2010
  • New Zealand National Barista Judge since 2020
  • WBC Certified Sensory Judge: WBC Seoul 2017, Amsterdam 2018, Melbourne 2022, Athens 2023
  • New Zealand National Latte Art Judge since 2010
  • World Latte Art Championship Visual Judge: Taipei 2023
