Third Wave Coffee Roasters

Please tell us a little about yourself:

My name is Santhosh, and I work with Third Wave Coffee Roasters, as a Cafe Manager. It’s a specialty coffee company where I am now learning about new types of coffee, and it’s different roast profiles. I always try to engage with my customers while brewing their cup of coffee, which makes me think beyond the basics and try out variations, to serve a better cup of coffee.

What are you excited to do in Boston?:

I am excited to represent my country, India, on this global coffee platform. I am looking forward to learning new things and expanding my horizons, which I can then bring back to the baristas at home, to help them grow.

How do you see the coffee industry changing in the future?:

We are already in the third wave of coffee, but with customers being more proactive in understanding their cup of joe, we are now nearing the fourth wave of coffee. In any case origin traceability is important, as now customers want to visit the estate, see the bean to cup process, and interact with the coffee growers/farmers. Customers have started making more effort, trying manual brewing not only in cafés, but also at home. It’s becoming more and more glamorous, and I think it will soon be the talk of the town.

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?:

Third Wave Coffee Roasters, who have given me all their support to perform in Boston. Thank you!
