Please tell us a little about yourself: 

I’ve been working with coffee for the past 4 years and I’m representing Serikov Coffee Company.
I’m the head instructor for the barista classes, and I am very excited to be the first champion of Kazakhstan, and to be representing my country in the world competition.

How did you get started in coffee?:

I was a student in Karaganda and needed money, so I applied for a job as a barista in a coffee shop and the rest is history.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

2019 Kazakhstan Coffee in Good Spirits.

What are you excited to do in Berlin?:

Drink German beer, see the city, and exchange ideas with baristas from all over the world, and bring that knowledge back to my country.

What was your first amazing experience with coffee?:

In a non-official championship in Kazakhstan in 2017 when I got 3rd place.

Besides your own competition drink, do you have a favorite cocktail?:

A Negroni.

What coffee-producing country interests or excites you most?:

Ethiopia for sure.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Snowboarding.

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

President of Kazakhstan!
