Please tell us a little about yourself:

I’m Özgür from Turkey and I’m 22. Since 2013, I’ve been working in the coffee industry. I’m so happy to be part of this community.

How did you get started in coffee?:

I was watching some videos on the internet and then I saw a video that was interesting. I opened it,  and my coffee story began from there.

What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:

I’ll be so honored to be there, firstly for my country, and then for myself. I’m looking forward to meeting with so many people who are in this business. It’s actually my second time in Brazil, that’s why I’m really really excited for it.

What is the most unusual vessel you have poured latte art into?:

It was an angel and an Indian.

What is your secret to making great latte art?:

Discipline, good milk, good coffee, and milk foam.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

I’m still trying to learn English. English course, human psychology, global warming, public speaking,  and I’ve just started drawing.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:

I have so many plans for the future. For example global warming, coffee roasting, becoming a trainer… it’s difficult, but I might have more to say next year.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the competition?:

I’d like to thank Ozgur Genc (Keobs Coffee Roasters), Kağan İzmiroğlu (Espresso Perfetto), and Şerif Basaran (Coffee Factory).
