Please tell us a little about yourself:

A barista with respect and loves for coffee, super excited to share my knowledge with everyone around me! I might seem shy, but once you get to know me, I’m pretty cheeky I guess? (:

How did you get started in coffee?:

My first experience with a manual espresso machine left an impression on me, and inspired me to explore the world of coffee and brewing further. At the tender age of 17, I competed for the first time in the 2016 Singapore National Barista Championship, and emerged with a long lasting curiosity about coffee and the barista craft.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

2016 Singapore National Barista Championship. Didn’t got through the first round but this was my first step into the competition world.

What are you excited to do in Berlin?:

CURRYWURST!!!!

What is your favourite coffee to cup?:

Ethiopia! The first speciality coffee I tried and fell in love with it.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

I love languages! I’m fluent in English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. I love to sing and compose as well!

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

A barista in a cafe sharing her passion and love for coffee to every customers that comes in.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCTC?:

I would like to thank my company Starbucks Coffee Singapore; the amazing group that I’ve trained with, Ain, Shingyee, Ryan, Bobby, Desmond, Oyah, and Jason! I can’t forget my coach Noorliana, as well as my boss, Yolande. And of course, all of this wouldn’t be possible without the support of my outlet, my ASM and my SM, Hermie for always being there and giving me words of support!
