Please tell us a little about yourself:
I only started drinking coffee when I started Dutch Colony Coffee Co. about 5 years ago. Through this journey I found there are so many aspects of specialty coffee to learn about, and that’s one of the reasons I started competing in the 2016 Singapore National Cup Tasters Champions where I placed 3rd.
How did you get started in coffee?:
My husband and I had planned to open a coffee shop as part of our retirement plan, but the opportunity came much earlier in 2013, and it looks like retirement has to wait for many more years.

2016 Singapore National Cup Tasters Championship – 2nd Runner-Up
2017 Singapore National Cup Tasters Championship – First Round
2018 Singapore National Cup Tasters Champion
What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:
Hope to visit coffee farms and also visiting Iguazu Falls!
What is your favorite coffee to cup?:
African, Ethiopia in particular is one of my favorites.
What are your interests outside of coffee?:
Traveling, hiking, and enjoying nature.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:
I see myself as a testimony that there are opportunities to have a career in specialty coffee, be it actively running the business, or actively competing and becoming a champion. I hope in 5 years that I have enough experience and knowledge to bring an integrated experience, from farm to cup, to our customers.
