The Coffee Collective

Please tell us a little about yourself:

I have been a barista for the past 6 years, traveling around Europe and working in the best cafes and roasters. Now I’ve found home in Copenhagen, working as a manager and barista at The Coffee Collective. This is my 2nd time at WBC, as I competed in Dublin 2 years ago. Competition is a way of improving and learning, and I try to do it as much as possible.

What are you excited to do in Boston?:

I am excited to compete against the best in the world and to meet old and new friends.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

Latvian Barista Campionship 2016, 2019 – 1st Place
Latvian Brewers Cup 2017 – 2nd Place
Latvian Cup Tasters Championship 2017 – 1st Place
Coffee Masters 2018 London – 9th Place
Coffee Masters New York 2017, 2018 – 3rd Place

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

I see myself in Copenhagen, still working with The Coffee Collective, competing, and also helping any barista that needs help with competition or their work.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Everything that is tasty, sports, and spending time developing myself.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?:

The Coffee Collective for the support and the coffee. SCA Latvia for putting up an amazing competition.
