BB’s Café

Please tell us a little about yourself:

Hi, my name is Jaime and I am 22 years. I opened a bakery in my city Burgos, Spain three years ago with my mom. Since then, I have been learning more and more about the coffee world. I love travel and discovering new places. Everything I’ve learned about coffee is to support two women in my life, my mom and my girlfriend. :)

How did you get started in coffee?:

When I opened a cafe, thanks to my mother. She motivated me to go workshops, trainings, and to travel around the world to explore cafés.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

Spain Cup Tasters Championship, 16th March 2019 –  1st Place. And that’s it! :)

What are you excited to do in Berlin?:

Okay, firstly win the Cup Tasters Championships, and besides that, enjoy the city, art, and the coffee roasters!

What is your favourite coffee to cup?:

I enjoy cupping all coffees!

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

The nature, art, and design.

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

Travelling around origin countries, cupping different processes and varieties.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCTC?:

I have a lot of people I’d like to thank, but three women in particular. Marisa Baqué, for teaching me everything she knows about cup tasting. My girlfriend Patricia, for allowing me to dedicate all the time I wanted to learn my coffee madness. My mother Nuria, because she was the one who wanted me to start in this world of coffee.
