Please tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a 25 years old coffee lover, living in Prague. Even though I studied biochemistry, I wasn’t satisfied with the vision of me wearing a lab coat. So I changed it for a barista apron! My first experience with specialty coffee was three years ago and it was love at first taste. I now work as a barista and a coffee roaster in Dos Mundos Roastery. Thanks to its owners Lukas and Adela, I have the opportunity to train my sensory skills and work with coffee professionally. This year I won the Czech Cup Tasters Championship for the second time in a row, and I can’t wait to enjoy the atmosphere in Belo Horizonte.
How did you get started in coffee?:
During my studies at university I was taught about coffee plants and the processing of coffee beans. I had a part-time job in a coffee shop where I learned basic barista skills. Since October 2016, I’ve been working as a barista, and now also as a coffee roaster in Dos Mundos Roastery.

2017 Czech Cup Tasters Championship – 1st Place
2017 World Cup Tasters Championship – 33rd Place, Round One
2018 Czech Barista Championship – 5th Place

What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:
I’m even excited about staying in Brazil! :)
What is your favorite coffee to cup?:
Any specialty coffee could be my favourite one, but generally I prefer coffees from Ethiopia and Costa Rica.
What are your interests outside of coffee?:
FOOD, and tasting it with my loved ones. Music, movies, and sports.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:
Hopefully still working in coffee with my family nearby :)
