Please tell us a little about yourself:
In my 29th years in this world I’ve always wanted to find how things work. I am an adventurous and curious person, and one of the things that fascinates me is coffee.
What are you excited to do in Boston?:
OMG…Boston… I cannot believe this is real. I will try to make the most of this experience. I am so looking forward to having my first cup of coffee there :)
Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:
Romania Barista Championship 2018 – 2nd place
Romania Brewers Championship 2018 – 4th place
Romania Latte Art Championship 2018 – 6th place
How do you see the coffee industry changing in the future?:
The coffee industry is going through such a beautiful stage! It is a fast growing sector, and a place where people are passionate about the product. I think that as we grow we will be able to deliver better products, and create awareness about all the people involved.
Where do you see yourself in five years?:
I see myself in the coffee industry—surrounded by a team of passionate people sharing what we know, and being the best, while we do what we love: coffee!
What are your interests outside of coffee?:
I am fascinated by many things, but two main interests of mine are photography and dogs. I like to capture moments, and I am able to that through my camera. I admire the simplicity, the devotion, and the unconditional love of a dog – I am 100% a dog person :)
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?:
There are coffee people in the industry that shared from their experience with me. To them, I will always be grateful. Then there are my colleagues, who have helped me with what they could, so I can have time to prepare and put everything in order to achieve a better result. And then I have my family, who supported me and understood the extra time I spent while doing what I love :) And all of this couldn’t be possible if God wasn’t on my side. To Him, I owe the most.
