My name is Daniel Acosta Busch, and I am a barista at Jardins Café in Curitiba, Brazil.

How did you get started in coffee?:

I started working with coffee by chance, and I have been doing so since 2009.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

2015 – National Latte Art Champion
2015 – World Latte Art Championship, Gothenburg – 11th Place
2017 – National Latte Art Championship 2nd Place
2018 – National Latte Art Champion

What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:

It’s a great pleasure to be part of this incredible event in my country—a coffee producer country hosting an important event like this.

What is the most unusual vessel you have poured latte art into?:

Into my friend’s mouth!

What is your secret to making great latte art?:

The pleasure and how love I feel for my clients and for coffee

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

I really like nature, one of my favorite things to do is to go to the beach with my children

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:

Progressing in my profession. I intend to continue competing in other categories as well.

Of course, it’s not just one  person. My coffee shop, Jardins Cafe, the BSCA, my friends, and all the people who’ve helped me to believe in my potential.
