Please tell us a little about yourself:

I’m Alexander Datsos, I’ve been working as a barista since 2007. My passion for coffee was greater than my studies in Architecture. It’s amazing how the coffee network connects people around the world by sharing knowledge and experience. But it also connects us with local people, and local guests. It’s my pleasure to show them hospitality and introduce to coffee around the world.

How did you get started in coffee?:

Started as a summer job in 2007 and became a lifetime passion.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

Swedish Latte Art Championship 2018 – 1st Place

What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:

Enjoy the competition, meet others baristas and coffee people! Feel the world level vibe, and mostly to get inspired about what comes next!

What is the most unusual vessel you have poured latte art into?:

Avocado.

What is your secret to making great latte art?:

Every time I pour it’s like my Sunday morning coffee.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Architecture, football, snooker, travel, nature, heritage, animals.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:

I can describe more than 5 scenarios.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the competition?:

My coach Nikos Mpellis, my colleagues, and everyone at Lofbergs.
