Please tell us a little about yourself:

I am an aeronautical engineer, chef, and bartender, who is currently training to be a pilot, and aviator.

What are you excited to do in Boston?:

I’m looking forward to connecting, meeting, and learning more from other coffee enthusiasts, and share the little I have. I would also like to visit a couple of places in Boston since the USA has been a place I have always wanted to visit and on my number one wish list.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

2019 Kenya National Barista Championship – 1st Place

How do you see the coffee industry changing in the future?:

Because of climate changes coffee trees may end up as victims, interfering with coffee production worldwide. I can also see great solutions in new technology coming to market to counter this problem.

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

I see myself as a pilot with a bunch of coffee outlets.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Aviation.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?:

I would like to thank my family, for the huge support they have given me. I would also like to thank The Lord Erroll Gourmet restaurant at large. My beverage manager, Mr. Jesse Wambugu, and my trainer Edward Njoroge from Dormans Coffee.
